Now, let’s talk about the last part of the SMART goal formula, the “Realistic” part. You can set a realistic goal if you are aware that you will have to put forth some effort to reach it. For instance, if you are trying to lose weight, you will have to exercise more often, eat healthier foods, and drink fewer sugary drinks. If you are trying to build a business, you will have to market your product more effectively, learn more about marketing, and spend more time working on your business.

The final part of the SMART goal is the “Timely” part. This means that you must set a deadline for yourself so that you can meet your goal. For instance, if you want to lose 20 pounds by December 31st, you need to set a deadline of December 1st. You should do everything you can to reach your goal by this date. If you don’t reach your goal by this date, you need to start over with a new goal.
